Cherry, Raspberry & Protein Smoothie

Lately, in order to help my gut heal, I’ve taken to making a (mostly) daily smoothie with ginger in it. This one is packed with 30g whey protein powder. It’s not the sweetest. If you make it and want to add more sweetness, I used to add in a soft Medjool date and found it has enough sweetness. Toppings often provide more sweetness as well. I’ve used a natural protein powder, if you use one with more flavour, especially vanilla, then this is often enough,
Just to note 1; I mostly buy frozen berries as they have a better chance of maintaining nutrients instead of being in a shop aisle and not knowing how long they’ve been picked.
Note 2: I use coconut milk but use the milk you normally use. The amount might vary. As I used the measuring scales I weighted the milk amount in grams and not in mls as is the norm.
On to the recipe.
Ingredients:
50g dark cherries (frozen)
50g raspberries
40g avocado
1 tbsp hulled hemp seeds
30g whey protein powder
260g coconut milk
4g chopped ginger
Whizz all these up in a food processor until smooth.
Serve as is or topped with almond butter and some extra frozen fruit.
I hope you enjoy this if you make it.
