A nut mylk Homemade Macadamia Mylk
I store macadamias in the fridge until ready to use.
Ingredients:
1-3 Medjool dates
Method:
In a bowl cover the macadamias with just boiled hot water and soak for 1 hour.
Rinse and strain, then blend the soaked macadamias, in a high speed blender along with 600g of filtered water, hemp seeds, one of the dates and a pinch of sea salt until a creamy liquid texture is reached. Check the sweetness and add more dates to the sweetness you like. Whizz again until blended into a smooth consistency.
Strain through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth into a jug. You will have to squeeze out the milk from the nut bag. Pour into a clean bottle and refrigerate.
You are left with macadamia pulp in the nut bag, some people use this to make biscuits.
The homemade macadamias mylk is ready to use in your homemade granola, coffees, warming cup of milk sprinkled with nutmeg or in a smoothie. It can also be used to make iced coffee.
